Day 5
... of The Fife Coastal Path. Today we walked from St Monans to Kingsbarns. The weather was kind even with a cooling breeze. It now feels very much like we are in the East Neuk of Fife, lovely Crew stepped gable ends to the houses. Apparently there are a number of these type of gables in Fife because a few hundred years ago Fife used to trade with Holland. A number of Dutch people ended up settling in Fife and they brought their architecture with them. The gable ends are similar to those gable ends found in Holland.
