Not sure what they are?

Seen near the river on a walk just near home today. I thought they were really pretty - a trawl through my wildflower books suggests maybe common centaury- but they don’t look quite right.
Been watching an awful lot of Olympics today, I seem to be gripped!  Who knew an Italian would win the men’s 100m:)
