El Peralín
Lots of "miradors" - viewing points - in these hills. This is the sign telling you that you´re in the mirador called El Peralín. A "peralín" wil be a small pear ochard. What you can see from El Peralín is the Sierra del Sueve and I´ve put the view in as an extra. The Sierra del Sueve was originally the territory of the Sueve, one of the original tribes that made up Asturias. It´s proximity to the sea, coupled to its height (about 3,800 ft), means it often has cloud on it and has its own microclimate. It´s home to a species of wild horse called Asturcons.
