We are returned!

We have been away in Yorkshire for a few days attending my cousin's funeral. Born in the Punjab in the closing days of the Raj she has died at the age of 81. I have back-dated some images of our travels, starting here.

Today's photograph is one of the carved faces on a circular stone bench in the garden behind York Minster. It looks ancient but I watched it being carved!  It was a collaborative creation by a group of stone carvers in 2000.
