Castle Stalker at sunset

The first day of our holiday ended with a wonderful sunset at Loch Laich following dinner at the Old Inn with our hosts in Benderloch (just north of Oban): Mr hazelh's uncle, aunt and cousin. This is Castle Stalker - or the Castle Aaaaarrrrrrggghhh from the final scene of Monty Python and the holy grail.

Earlier in the day we caught the train from Edinburgh Waverley to Glasgow Queen Street, then Glasgow Queen Street to Oban. Then we cycled the 10 miles from Oban to Benderloch, mainly on cycle paths. The further west we travelled, the more the weather improved.

There is a new member of the family at Benderloch - Fingal the 13 month old bearded collie. He has taken an enthusiastic liking to Mr hazelh - see the extra.

Exercise today: ~12 miles of cycling.
