Beer festival
We braved public transport for the first time since the pandemic started to go to the Big Smoke (aka London), abandoning Mr Perkins for the day in the process. We went to a beer festival. NHS Covid passes were necessary to get in. Some people might consider them authoritarian, but it made me feel safer.
We met up with friends we haven’t seen (in person) in yonks, and it was lovely. Because of the restrictions on entry, masks weren’t required, and it was a glimpse of normal life. I didn’t realise how much I’d missed it.
The venue wasn’t as horrific as the image portrays. There were uncountable breweries with many beers. I particularly enjoyed the Sour Puss from a cat-based brewery. I enjoyed conversations with some of the stall-holders (until other people wanted beer from them).
We’re on the train home now. The train is dreadfully delayed, but at least it’s running – the next two have apparently been cancelled.
Addendum: Mr Perkins is displeased by our absence.
