Who Do You Think You Are? ...

... the fox seems to be saying.

The tenant of our Ongar property left last autumn to live beside the sea. We took the opportunity to have decorating, electrical, plumbing and maintenance work done and decided not to re-let for a while. This fox has taken up residence in the back garden and I've been trying to get a shot of it for ages. I managed to sneak up on it this afternoon as it settled down for an afternoon nap very close to the back door. Unfortunately I spooked it as I opened the door. It ran to the other end of the garden and just stood staring at me.

I think that pretty wispy grass that can be seen is common bent. Evidently this, when close cut, is perfect for golf courses.
