Thistle

Lots of butterflies today, weather changeable. 

We did 6 miles around the villages, noting the lack of birdsong as we approach 'Silent August' when the birds have a rest after the chaos of the breeding season. The green woodpeckers were still noisy in the dell and an owlet was surprised in Adder Wood (Do we normally find adders in woods?) The buzzards were still calling too and the occasional chiff-chaff. Not a lot else.
