Two Bags Full...
Well, my first day back home from the cottage was pretty unblippable. It is always a day of transition from cottage to city life...and pretty boring. A day filled with unpacking, doing laundry, getting groceries, sorting through mail, and reassuring the cat that yes, I am home again..The day often involves naps too, as that transition can be SO exhausting....
The biggest and most challenging job I am faced with when I get home is trying to rescue the garden from the two weeks of neglect it suffered while I was away. A long time ago I realized that if I was going to be away from home so much, I would have to settle for a less than perfect garden. And that is what I have..a less-than-perfect garden... I do what I can to give it a face lift and it IS amazing what a little cosmetic gardening can do...
Today was a wonderful summer day of sunshine and cooler temperatures, and perfect for working outside in the garden; so I made a pact with myself to fill two yard waste bags before lunch....and what was the easiest and quickest filler? Hosta and lily stalks that had seen better days! Snip Snip Snip and voila! Mission accomplished. Two bags full and the garden was ever so much tidier! ( looking, that is). A long way to go yet, but it was a start.
Yard waste bags? Not the most glamorous or picturesque blip, but it will have to do for today..
