Edward Elgar by Herefore Cathedral

In the grounds of Hereford Cathedral is this wonderful sculpture of Edward Elgar with his Sunbeam bicycle - see the second blip.

It was created by Jemma Pearson in 2005 and unveiled by Dame Janet Baker that year.

He lived in Hereford between 1904 and 1911, and there is this lovely quote on the base: 


"This is what I hear all day - the trees are singing my music - or am I singing theirs?"
