Never mind the quality...
....feel the excitement.
After a short 4 mile kayak trip we were resting in the middle of the bay at Seacliff when we met a group of paddle boarders. We were just getting ready for our return trip when the group leader called over to us that two dolphins had just passed by. We saw their dorsal fins breaching the surface and they were heading along the coast in the same direction as us. We followed at a distance and kept up with them for twenty minutes or so. They were just doing what dolphins do, probably feeding, and unfazed by our presence although to be fair they were moving steadily away from us.
Except for the moment one turned around and decided to do a "flipper" and jump out of the water. I have an old Olympus waterproof camera, that I always carry but it doesn't have a viewfinder. In bright sunshine I was only able to point it in the general direction of far away fins as I squinted at the viewing screen. The image isn't great, but the quality of the experience was amazing. We had an excellent day....
