I Need Perennials!

I usually put annuals in this little garden area by my front door, but I'm really getting tired of having to redo it every year. The idea of perennials seems like an overwhelming commitment to me, but I think it's time to start checking into them. As it is now my "garden" spends more time each year looking like this than it does looking like a garden.
