Titch & Quackers
My back has been screaming today. I think I may have been sitting watching too much sport (something I don't normally do).
So after lunch I walked up to the pharmacy to collect my prescription and then went for a bit of a walk to stretch the back.
I ended up going through the woods where I used to walk PD.
The pond is completely overgrown and the ducks must find it really hard to get through all the reeds etc to try and find a bit of open water.
When I reached the far end of the woods there was a stall set up by the Woodland Trust (who own the woods) promoting their work and offering free trees for people's gardens.
I spent a while chatting to the girl manning the stall about all sorts of environmental things and was able to point her in the direction to find out about the mining industry that used to be 'the' industry in West Lothian and the educational steps that have been taken to involve the public ... she stays near Ravenscraig and is wanting to get involved in the education, ecological and regeneration of that area.
By the time I got home I was at that point where another few hundred yards would have been too far.
Close up shots of some of the flowers and insects I came across are over here.
I took dozens more, but they all got deleted because the breeze got the better of me and they were blurred and out of focus.
