Long & Short

The long and short of boating.
Kayaks and kit at Stromness - about ten feet long.  Capacity one person each.
Anthem of the Seas at Kirkwall - about eleven hundred and forty feet long.  The cruise ship has a passenger capacity of 4180 plus 760 crew.  There are sixteen passenger decks.
Each of the lifeboats has a capacity of 370 passengers!
Because of Covid, the cruise ship is likely to be carrying a lot fewer passengers than usual.
The houses in the foreground of the cruise ship photo are a long long way back from the shore, and I think they make the cruise ship look a lot shorter than it is.
