Scottish Power

We slept well and long last night at Jen and Pete's.  Pete left early for the final training day for his new job.  Next week he will be based at the place where he will be working and will commence his induction and meet service users.  Jenny, meanwhile, walked up to Chatelherault Park to meet with her new boss for a walk and talk, which went very well .She begins her new job mid August.

Tony and I set off to find Sainsbury's in nearby Hamilton and after a dead end and a couple of last minute lane changes, arrived to do a bit of shopping, then it was on to Curry's to find a landline phone for the grown up kids.

Jenny arrived back and proposed lunch and a walk in the park.  When we arrived at the 'Big House' in Chatelherault, this piper was leading in a wedding party so he had to be today's blip.  Despite the cafe having sold out of most lunch foods, we managed to get a very decent bowl of broth for Tony and cheese salad sandwiches for us, which set us up nicely for a walk through the forested park and across the road to the garden centre.  Jen and Pete's house being a rented property, the garden has been mowed but is full of weeds which have grown higher than the grass so Jen purchased a slim tool for the taking out of weeds, and some natural lawn feeder which will not harm the visiting rabbits.

Tomorrow we all head off on holiday, Jen and Pete to Skye and Tony and I to the 'reduced Scottish 6 Days orienteering festival' reduced because all competitors will just run three days this year, due to Covid.  We will be based just outside Fort William.
