Soho

There was another team social meeting this afternoon. It’s the fifth we have done in the last sixteen months. A group went for a sports day picnic in the park while some of us - the older ones who were less keen to sit on the grass - met up in Soho. It was a lovely lunch and great and always good to see people in person. I’d booked a table at Bill’s Restaurant which meant there was a lot of choice for people and it’s not overly pricey. Initially, I’d booked an outside table but we had a last minute addition and the outdoor seating didn’t really work for five people. Instead, we got a decent table inside which was nicely separated from others. The windows were open which also made it feel fresher and less risky to be indoors with other people. One of the good things about the afternoon was that we were in no way rushed. A couple of people were running late, due to issues with trains and meetings, but we were able to wait until we were all gathered before ordering. And then we could take our time eating.

Afterwards, Mark and I went for a couple of drinks across the road. We also snagged an outside table at The Duke of Argyll which seemed surprisingly empty given how buzzing the streets were outside. As usual we talked a lot about work but it was nice, relaxed evening.
