Ready for take off

Bex airfield. Our son turned 18 today and our gift to him was an hour’s flight in a glider over the wonderful Alps where we live. The main photo is him about to take off. He is in the back seat and the pilot is at the front. The plane towed them to a great height then the rope was released. The weather was perfect and he enjoyed flying over our chalet as well as all the local places he knows….Leysin, Les Diablerets, Villars, Solalex, our chalet and, the highlight, the Miroir d’Argentine. I’ve added a couple more shots of the glider as extras.

We’re out for an Indian meal tonight with both our sons.
