A day in the sewing room!
Well quite a few hours of it anyway. I decided to make an insert for Reggie's new bed, extra photo, as he is still choosing his old one to sleep in. The new one is a bit bigger which I chose on purpose as he often stretches out and hangs over the side of the smaller one. The new one also has a memory foam base. I thought maybe this didn't feel as soft as the old one so hence the new insert. I used an old one of his blankets so it was familiar but he has still chosen the old bed! May as time passes he'll like it better!
I also decided to sort through my sewing projects stashed away in the drawer and either finish them or dispose of them. This one has been cut out and partly sewn together for several years! All the pieces are now pressed and pinned together so that I can try it on as it looks enormous. It's an old letters and the sizing on the back seems very different to my newer patterns so the only way is to work it out as I go. It seems to have so many different pieces too, with side bodice inserts and several panels. Oh well I'll give it a go and may get a dress at the end!
I didn't spend as much time sewing as I intended as I was distracted by the food processor choosing. I watched several YouTube videos and looked at Which online. I've chosen a Tefal one which was recommended by Which as 'no flaws'. I'll give my verdict at a later date.
The rain has watered the garden nicely, not too heavy so no plants destroyed. I collected lots from the water butts into containers so that they can refill as more is forecast overnight and tomorrow.
Reg and I had a quick walk round the village in the afternoon and didn't get too wet although it did rain the whole time. I hope we do get some more sunshine at some point and then all the fields will be green again.
Mum asked me to order her some colourful little pots to hang over her balcony. It's good to hear her interested in her surroundings again and making her new place like home.
