Someone's Journal Entry in the Lane

"Sailing, I now knowest not where"
With the assistance of MrsPuff (see her comment below) it is actually "Sail, Thou Knowest Not Where"
Took me a while to decipher as you can see much of the text is rather faded. I wonder who wrote this and what their circumstance was? It seemed like they thought they knew where they were heading but an event, or series of events, had caused their journey to be derailed. Do they, like so many in our community, struggle with depression?
On the other hand, the author may now have a feeling of liberation and enjoy going wherever the wind blows. The lanes are fascinating places.
What I also find interesting is that this is not a normal tag or artwork nor is it obvious to those who walk passed. I thought it may have been a quote but Google did not identify it.

Footnote: This was even harder to read on the image I took and I was unsure if it was worth using, however when I was cropping it a little I accidentally hit the Auto-correct button with the result that it became much clearer.
