A rainy(ish) day

We’ve been waiting for the rain and storms to arrive since about last weekend but they’ve never seemed to appear (rejoice) until today. Somewhat.

We popped into Buxton to buy supplies (I was having a very hungry day) ready to batten down the hatches. We got caught in a downpour whilst ferrying food from a deli, but otherwise, it stayed dry.

The rainy afternoon gave ample opportunities to get snug and do some reading.

I’m currently reading Bee Wilson’s ‘First Bite: how we learn to eat’ which is far too lacking in drama for a holiday read but makes up for it in fascinating facts.
