Past their best

We missed the peak sunflower yellowness in the field behind our house whilst we were away, and now they just look sad. 
Today was quite warm and sunny and busy with gîte preparations, as we have people arriving tomorrow. 
We might have a problem with our swimming pool heat pump. Mr F has turned everything off and we’ll have a look in the morning. Meanwhile I looked up the life expectancy of a pool heat pump, as ours is 12 years old now. 10-20 years apparently and they last longer with an annual service.
Ours has never been serviced. Oh dear. 
I’ve heard that cold water swimming is all the rage now? It’s meant to have health benefits? Doesn’t it?
