American Bittern
Bill took me to the refuge (Ridgefield NWR) today. This was the best image of the day, but please visit my Flickr page, as there is a cute picture of a raccoon's hind quarters. I almost put that one up. Also there is a bad picture of a green-winged teal duck, the first I have seen of this duck. Too bad the lighting and distance conspired against me. We had sun and showers on our little drive around the refuge. There were a ton of little swallows in the air, dive bombing the bugs. In the landscape pictures, if you look close, you can see little black dots. Those are the swallows.
