Galloway Forest Park
Today's the day ........................ for a drive through
There was a lot of weather about as we drove home south from Ayrshire - but somehow we managed to dodge the torrential showers that seemed to be affecting other parts of the country.
We took a different route this time, through the Galloway Forest Park to Glentrool and eventually to Newton Stewart. Galloway Forest Park was established in 1947 and at over 97,000 hectares is Britain's largest. It is often referred to as ‘the Highlands of the Lowlands’ and attracts around 800,000 thousand visitors each year.
It is well worth a closer look but we didn't have time today to do anything more than drive through. We hope to return another day ..................
