Year 2 Day 127 of UK COVID-19 Pandemic.  First UK Vaccine 233 days ago.  England 10th day open.  Overseas travel restrictions.

We had a quote to carpet the new extension and thought it very expensive, so going on the daughter's recommendation we headed to Newport (South Wales) - about thirty minutes away- to get another quote. Not only was the price for the whole job less than half the quote locally, but it turned out the owner of the shop knew friends from our previous village. A big result!

As today's W-I-D-E  Wednesday Challenge theme is 'bridge' I took the opportunity to photograph Newport Transporter Bridge with a high tide on the River Usk. And it was only seconds to wait for a gull to fly into the frame.

Afterwards we had a couple of hours walking around Mrs BB home town of Chepstow, after a coffee, before enjoying a scenic drive home through the Wye Valley.
