Its the Way It Is

By Jeano

Dé Céadaoin

as you all know is Irish for Wednesday (pronounced Day Kaydeen)

Swim at 9am (it was lashing rain at 8am my usual time)…. see extra of me taken by my grand-daughter as I came out of the sea. I asked her would she swim with me .. eh no thanks nana (and who can blame her; imagine if your nana was shrieking and hollering and splashing about and you were 12 … morto .. (Dublin for mortified)

Then we had a lovely chatty walk along the prom and breakfast in the Martello (main blip).. a seriously nice place to have bricfeasta.

The breakfast was delicious and much chat about her choices for subjects in secondary school

E.g. must do are English, Irish, Maths, history, french, science

Then you can spend 3 months sampling the others, I. E. Woodwork, metalwork, home economics, geography, business studies, music, art and you make your choice at the end of the 3 months of any 2 of those. It was nice to chat and be asked for my opinion. Darling you must do music. You can play guitar so well and you are a lovely singer and music will sustain you through the difficult times of your life (said only inwardly)

After our delicious Full Irish Fries yummy.. apple juice for her and coffee for me (excellent coffee), we drove to Avoca in Kilmacanogue. We walked around admiring the gorgeous clothes at gorgeous prices (I bought a gift token for a friend), and my other extra is taken of her as we walked into the lovely little flower shop

We are now settling down to watch the The Secret Garden (1993) …a film we both love.

I have had a great day. 12 year olds are great company. I really mean that

And for her tea, I made some pancake art and as you will all know the Irish for jellyfish is Smugairle Roin. But it doesn’t sting with lemon n sugar. Last extra (turning it over on the pan was not easy .. nerves of steel)
