Having invited the whole of the office to a drink later this week, it was obvious that it wasn't going to be an ordinary week for me.

What I didn't expect is a beautiful wonderful surprise ahead of my big day. My desk had flowers and confetti and balloons and a signed card, and leading to it were banners and more balloons.

I know that I should hide and deny every passing year, but honestly, I loved it. I am trying to embrace it and today no cracks were showing. Today little sparkly '50' confetti trailed behind me and made me smile.
