Dry River Valley

This is our “lifesaving” dry river valley….which runs through the village
It’s very wide and deep…
.and for about 90% of the year …it is dry, purely decorative and used by folk who like to take their dogs there, for walks

Our weather forecast for tomorrow is that we might have heavy torrential rail, with thunder and lightning….
And then suddenly the ‘drain’ as its affectionately known as….
Is our main flood control tool….and it can take tonnes of water easily to the sea….

The drain is in use every year…..maybe only for a few days….
But it’s worth it’s weight…….
