All Aboard
Sue had organised a canal boat trip for a few of us from work….we kept it hush hush so there couldn’t be any bad feelings. Anyway, there could only be a maximum of twelve on board. Mike, Jeff, Julie, Julie, Julie, Janet, Sabine, Lou, Shelley, Georgina, Sue and me.
We were boarding at 10am. I walked down to Boothstown Marina and I was boiling, even at that time, when I arrived. The boat, The lady Harriet, was lovely. We set off and cracked open the fizz to have with croissants. We decided to head towards the swing bridge rather than towards Leigh (we will do that another time). We had all taken food or drink for a buffet, which was fab.
The sun was shining, the food and drink plentiful, the company great, we spotted a kingfisher…what more could we want. Oh, yes, Jeff put together a top cruising themed play list.
We sat at the moorings when we returned after three hours and enjoyed the sun and the company before heading home. I walked back…all up hill…and sat out in the garden where I fell asleep. Drinking early in the morning and in the heat and walking wiped me out. lol. It was a top day.
