Salfieblom

Bulbinella. Called salfieblom in Afrikaans for its healing capabilities. Salf = ointment, blom = flower. The sap is good for all kinds on skin conditions, including sunburn and nappy rash.

Bushier than our normal Sunday. I had to pick E up on my way to church, which don't sound like much, but she is 101 and a half years old (turned 101 in February) and is tiny. My nerves were in shreds. A few weeks ago, when she still insisted on walking to church, she had a fall on her way back, mainly because she didn't have enough hands to carry her handbag, walking stick and the bottle of wine she got from the co-op after the service.

It was also a day of ambulances. G fell ill during the service and an ambulance had to be called. He was taken to hospital and felt better later. On my way back home there was an ambulance and police at the river attending to someone on the mudflats and I drove behind an ambulance in our lane, coming from the care home.

In the afternoon we went to N&V to sort out the documents needed for the call with the bank regarding C's mom's estate.

Weather was overcast and warm. A bit of rain during the night, but none of the thunder storms and heavy rain forecasted.

Pizza for supper.
