Saharan dust
An overcast day at 32C with a patter of dust-filled rain. The south westerly wind - the Libeccio - from Libya - had carried dust from the erg of Idehan Murzach, a vast 58,000 km sq area of san dunes deep in southern Libya (in my imaginings).
This led me to briefly read about the Sahara- 9.2 million km sq, 16% of the African land mass, an are of san dunes, arid mountains up to over 3000m, gravel plains, less than an inch of rain a year, with daytime summer temps up to 46C.
