Metamorphosis

An old rotten willow tree fell over in a neighbour's creek a couple of weeks ago. He's been cutting it up to see how much is suitable for firewood, and in so doing he exposed this extraordinary sight which like a butterfly emerged unbidden from the plain-looking exterior.
