Spider alert - sorry!

Another lovely day today although I took a cardigan to church as even in these temperatures it can be draughty with the doors open.
Today we sang in church for the first time in well over a year. Wearing masks, safely distanced, no choir, but we were singing - both hymns and the setting for the Eucharist. It was a lovely service, we had a baptism today too so lots of good things. Strangely enough it was this weekend last year, the 26th July when we reopened after the first lockdown. I remember as it was our 45th wedding anniversary.
The extra shows our little church the fullest it has been for a very long time.
Back home and Joyce and Ali had arrived and were looking forward to our lunch of bacon rolls. We had not long finished when I got out the small parasol, we used it yesterday too, and noticed this wonderful spider on it. It was an amazing colour and the markings on its back looked to me like a face.

I drove Joyce to the train, she was travelling cross country and went into her first class seat only to find that there were 3 other people with reserved seats in first class and they had all been seated around the same table in the coach! That doesn't help social distancing, needless to say she moved!
I got caught up in road works and changes to traffic routes on my way back home. I discovered the hard way that cars can no longer go along Princes Street from Leith Street to Jenners. The only route now, for cars coming up Leith Street, is up the Bridges. So as a result I annoyed a taxi driver by being in the wrong lane (not that that bothered me, they have done far worse in the past) and then had to take a very long diversion to get back on my desired route. Heaven help the tourists!
We went to Ali's next and packaged up a faulty microwave for collecting tomorrow, not an easy thing to do I might add.
A lazy end of day with a tasty stirfry for dinner, a short walk and an early night are on the cards.
