Musical Perches

There was an incident among team finch at the feeding station at the California Wildwood venue . Heavily favored to win the sunflower seed planting event, several finches were temporarily sidelined  due to an unexpected drop in the seed level. Unconfirmed rumors around the venue claim that an unauthorized intruder* breeched  heavy security at the perimeter causing the drop in seed level. Competition among the finches for the available places in the first heat was fierce. Disaster was averted when one member of the goldfinch contingent showed awesome form in hovering. 

There was an unavoidable delay in completing the construction of some of the venues here at the Wildwood pavilion and as a result, some competitors have been forced to return to the athlete's village not only for meals, but for the equipment necessary for the seed planting competition. Scheduling is tight and the unnecessary travel time is putting extra pressure on the team.

Three new plants have been purchased and planting is scheduled to begin soon.
