Family ties

I had a couple of hours with Mama A today; it was a nice change to just be the two of us as it meant we could talk wedding stuff without the menfolk eye rolling!

She had the tv on, to try and spot Mr A on the British Superbikes coverage (as he covers the pit lanes). It took me no time at all to point him out; I’d know that handsome face even when it’s half hidden behind a camera! anywhere.

My main job today was to help her decide on an outfit for the wedding. I think she’d already made her mind up but wanted affirmation that it would be ok. All the outfits she showed me were lovely, but I agreed with the one she picked as the best choice.

We then spent a good while looking through old photos as I’ve had an idea but needed some photos of Mr A as a boy.

I’ve never really seen Mr A’s baby photos before so it gave me a chuckle and also a surprise at how similar we were as kids. Mama A showed me her wedding photos too.

I also wanted some photos of his grandma’s (he never knew his grandpa’s) to display at our reception. My grandma was a huge part of (and influence on) my life, so I wanted to honour the memory of her and felt it only right to do the same for Mr A’s side of the family.

Although I’ve heard tales about Grandma Mac and Cream-on Grandma*, again I’d never seen them, so it’s nice to put faces to names.

Today’s blip is of some of the photos we found :-)

*As kids, Mr A & his siblings remember her putting cream on everything and the name stuck; Papa A (her son) is exactly the same!
