Listening.
We always had a tradition with our children that every now and then we would sit in the sitting room and have what we call Cheers Drinks. A glass of coke or lemonade for them and a well deserved glass of wine for us. They had nibbles too and the rules were you had to behave really well and we would just chat. No toys electronic devices etc! The next generation seem to like Cheers Drinks too and they asked if they could come for drinks and nibbles this evening.
They love to hear about stories of where the bit and bobs around the room came from and who it had belonged to. Most of the things we have do have a tale behind them and each one is a reminder of someone precious. Here they are listening to Grandpa telling a tale of some sort. An easy way to teach social skills in so many ways and we all enjoyed it.
After out Cheers Drinks it was home and time for bed. We then enjoyed a very nice BBQ.
Weather still very hot. My voice is still very croaky!
