Looking out through the loft bedroom window
You can see from this view just how much the garden has become quite dry. I won’t water grass as it always recovers in our climate. But I’ve been watering the plants this past week.
It’s the view from the room where the 3 older grandchildren sleep, as the youngest sleeps in the small bedroom cum office on the first floor.
Now to the Exciting News!
Several months ago our son and our daughter-in-law surprised us by saying they had decided to move out of Bristol and look for a house in our area.
He was also looking to move jobs.
To cut a long story short, they put their house on the market after he was successful in his application for another job, which offered employees working from home with visits to the site twice a month.
I am so proud of him. It’s a really good job.
It means two flights a month up to Edinburgh. So he’ll fly from Birmingham airport which is a 25 minute drive from us.
Their house sold within two weeks!
We were on holiday in Cornwall at the time.
Then it was a case of looking around our area. I was enlisted to drive round and so the search began.
The great thing is they have had an offer accepted on an ex-rental home about a 6 minute drive from us, and a 20 minute walk! A good friend made an appointment for a viewing on their behalf and took her phone with her so they could have a “virtual” viewing via FaceTime.
I still can’t quite believe it.
I keep holding my breath!
When they rang to tell us the grandchildren were all so super excited it made me very emotional,
even now, as I write this…..sitting in Costa’s having been to the hairdressers next door at 8.30am. Hubby is collecting the shopping from Sainsbury’s nearby.
(Lots of shelves with shortages due to the Pingdemic!)
But most people around this shopping area are still wearing masks in stores and hand sanitizing, prudently.
The hairdresser’s has kept all their regulations in place.
Hubby has now arrived so I’ll finish here.
Have a good weekend everyone!
