Mae's Sunflower...

...the first to bloom and it looks like there may be several more blooms soon. I'm so glad, as I mentioned in a previous blip that I'd forgotten to water them for several of those really hot days and all the plants really suffered from lack of water--burnt leaves on the very bottom of the stems and dried, droopy leaves on the rest. I gave them some "Miracle Grow", & am SO happy that except for losing lots of the lower leaves they've starting blooming. It's some kind of a hybrid sunflower--Mae picked out the packet of seeds based on the photo on the front of it, which she thought was beautiful--& the bloom is exactly as pictured. It says they should bloom until the frost comes. :)
