Don't Grow Up...

This is not a picture I took today. This was sent to me. With a caption of "reminds me of you." Throughout this photojournal journey-I have tried to see things differently. But one thing I overlooked was that we really don't do this ourselves. Sometimes we need guidance. Sometimes we need support. Sometimes we need reminding. I tell my students "there are 7 billion people on the planet...we are not meant to be alone." I truly believe that. Sometimes I go through "I don't like humanity" days (or even weeks) but the truth is we need each other.

This message is special to me because my favorite professor gave me that same message on my college graduation day (along with a copy of Peter Pan). Don't grow up. It's funny how two people can enter your life at different times and give you a message you need to hear.

I am thankful for the people who keep me on track. I am thankful for the people who support me. I am even thankful for the people I don't like because they challenge me to see things differently and become better. St. Francis' quote really has helped me see that.
