Lac de Joux
Day 4: Route 7, 93 km, 1300m ascent
We have previously only visited this lake in winter as there is great x-country skiing in the area. It was lovely to see it in the summer. We stopped here for morning coffee before heading up the Col de Marchairuz. It was quite a pull as we went slowly so that our ebikes wouldn’t need a charge during the day.
It was interesting to see more watch makers on route and more hay being cut, although the closer to Lake Geneva we got we saw combine harvesters rather than tractors.
See extras.
As we arrived early we decided to continue from Nyon to Morges by the high level vineyard route. We finished by swimming in the lake, having a crepe followed by a well earned glass of wine. Then we took the train home.
It’s been a great trip.
