NICOBAR PIGEON
I have Blipped this bird before but he's worth another look.
The Nicobar Pigeon (Caloenas nicobarica), unlike the common statue inhabiting pigeons so common around the world, is a rather colorful creature. When sunlight bounces off its feathers it's almost psychedelic. This bird is native to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India and throughout the Malay Archipelago. No I didn't go there...this was shot at the Milwaukee County Zoo in Wisconsin. The aviary there is outstanding.
Best seen in Large.
