My Scottish Great-Grandparents
Since I am sick at home and can't go out and take pictures, I thought I would continue back in time, digitalising some old photos.
These are my grandfather's parents, James Hunter and Elizabeth Chalmers, who moved to Canada in the late 1800s from Scotland, shown here with their first grandchild (my father) between them. My grandfather took the picture. He had a fantastic camera with a bellows that my father still had when I was very small. There was a small darkroom at the fire station where my grandfather would develop his photos.
This photo was probably taken in the summer of 1919, on my great-grandparents' farm in northern Ontario.
