Flying high

We had a wonderful day at the Imperial War Museum at Duxford in Cambridgeshire. The weather was still a bit warm for our liking but we were able to cool down while viewing the huge variety of aircraft and exhibitions in various hangers. Our jaws dropped at the size of the B52 bomber and we enjoyed walking through a test version of Concord. N treated me to a very special experience, a little in advance of my birthday……. a flight in a Tiger Moth: a biplane with an open cockpit. The pilot was even brave enough to allow me to take the controls after a little tuition. I was in seventh heaven! The visit came to a perfect end with two Spifires providing us with an aerobatic display.
