Viper's Bugloss
Echium vulgare
Too hot for proper walking so just a quick scrape round the local area looking for wildflowers.
This is viper's bugloss, which I love for its colours and also for its name. Apparently in ancient times it was thought to cure snakebite and melancholy. Quite a CV!
What else? Well I've had a haircut, which feels good, and got rather domestic. And, of course, I've been struggling to stay sane in this sweaty weather. I keep looking at the garden and thinking I should be out there doing innumerable jobs, but until it cools down that's just not going to happen.
Take care xx
