Life In Wales

Down at the Beach

I got up early and took the boys down to the beach for a walk at 6.45am. It’s a much better time of day as it’s cooler and quieter. We walked for 3kms and on our way back we walked on the sand at the water’s edge - they still won’t go in the sea but the were happy to lie on the sand, it probably felt quite cool.

Back home by 8am, breakfast in the garden and then another busy day at work. We had an upholsterery cleaner this morning to clean the older sofa, I had previously sent him a photo and when he arrived I told him which sofa it was. I came down after about an hour and found him cleaning the brand new sofa that was only delivered last week! I quickly said ‘not that one, it’s new!’ and he said that he did wonder as it looked very clean! I was worried that it would have ruined it, but fortunately it hasn’t and he didn’t charge us for it - well we wouldn’t have paid for it anyway. He told Alan that he just got carried away and that I had sent him a photo of the one that needed doing. I felt a bit sorry for him but not sure we’d ask him to come back again.

Tonight we had to go to B&Q in Llandudno to change a light fitting, so we made a night of it and went for a walk from the West Shore along Marine Drive which goes around the base of the Great Orme. It was so beautiful and after last nights firey reds, there were pastel pinks at sunset.

We saw the Coastguard helicopter fly over and as we drove home, they were hovering over the Little Orme with lots of police presence - we later found out that two people were stuck on a ledge, hope they got them down ok!
