Cooling towers with shadows

There wasn’t any relief from the heat today until we had a thunderstorm this evening. No worries about having to water the pots.

A busy day starting with a trip to the satellite surgery for a blood test at 8.25 this morning. I don’t do early rising so the alarm call at 7 am was a rude awakening, but I was able to take this picture by 8.30 for my efforts. Also I joined B & Amber for their morning walk whilst it was cooler.

Two of my sewing friends called in for coffee. I haven’t seen either to speak to since February of last year. We had lots to chat about. Both ladies are widows and it wasn’t until they were asking about my medical emergency last year the I found out that Betty’s husband died suddenly from the same condition that I had. It must have been hard for her to tell me. His wasn’t diagnosed, fortunately mine was. Makes you grateful for small mercies.

I managed to get some sewing done whilst B was at Athletics and my Dresden plate is complete.
