The Wearing of the Green
While it is true that the Innkeeper has a green shirt on under his jacket, it's the Cottage lawn, I'm referring to!
It's time to tidy up from the Winter, and the weeds just love this time of year, they grow lush and thick. We work hard to avoid chemicals and pull as much as we can by hand. The garden and the waterfall area are full of birds most of the year, birds that eat the baby snails that are turning up about now. I've considered snail bait, but prefer to let nature run it's course.
So, Happy St. Patrick's Day to you and yours! We enjoyed a fantastic dinner of corned beef and cabbage, potatoes, lamb stew, soda bread and apple crisp at the Catholic Church this afternoon. They put on a lovely dinner ever year, our first time to join in, but I hope it won't be the last! The most yummy corned beef I've had to date! Everything was delicious!!
