Land of the Lotus

Just a mere 20 minutes from the White House, Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens is a one-of-a-kind destination and a hidden gem in Washington, DC. It is the only national park site devoted to cultivated water-loving plants, and features over 45 ponds filled with a variety of water lilies and lotus, an elevated boardwalk through the surrounding tidal marshes, and access to the Anacostia Riverwalk Trail.

The summer lotus and lily blossoms are at peak right now, so that outing was a must :)
