short showers

An overcast day, but the promised 'occasional showers' were very occasional and so light as to make little impression on the very dry gardens.
We have been advised that our own showers should also be short ones.

A recent article in the local paper asked us all to conserve water, especially through the summer when demand is high and dry weather is putting pressure of water reserves. Tankers are being used to supplement water storage levels at peak times in some parts of Orkney.
