Through the barley

Not at the volunteering today so went out early to do the week's shopping then did some admin.
After an early lunch went for the longest run since my marathon, mostly in the woods where the temperture was reasonable. Any sunny open bits had a pleasant breeze and there were only a few places where it was too warm. I had to walk a few bits as the vegetation was so high, including through this barley field where a sort of path had been made as the official path was totally overgrown. There is a network of local footpaths but a lot are currently almost impassible, I don't see the point of designating them if they aren't kept open.
