After another hot and sleepless night (next door’s dogs this time!), decided I was too weary to join a craft group in the park this morning, and instead went for a short walk, hoping it would be cooler by the river; it wasn’t! 32 degrees in the shade in the garden this afternoon. The whole of the south west is now under an amber extreme heat weather warning, the first time the Met Office has issued such a warning: see here.

I won’t dwell on so-called “Freedom” Day, I have a very different name for it!
